 A special court has sentenced 4 terrorists in the case of live bombs found after a bomb blast 17 years ago in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. The special court pronounced a 600-page verdict. On Friday (April 4, 2025), Saifurrahman, Mohammad Saif, Mohammad Sarwar Azmi and Shahbaz Ahmed were convicted in this case. Recall that on May 13, 2008, 8 serial blasts took place in Jaipur. The ninth live bomb was recovered from near Sthir Guest House in Chandpole Bazaar.


71 people died and 185 were injured in these blasts. The big thing is that even during the sentencing, there was not a slightest wrinkle on the faces of these terrorists, nor did they regret their act. All four terrorists were seen smiling and laughing in the court and while coming out. During this, the lawyer of the terrorists tried to show through Shayari that all of them are innocent. He said,


“Your city, you are the murderer, you are the plaintiff, you are the judge – I am sure, the mistake will be ours.”


However, Judge Ramesh Kumar Joshi replied to the Shayari with Shayari. He said,

In the serial blast case, except Shahbaz, others were sentenced to death, but then the High Court acquitted them. The state government has gone to the Supreme Court against this decision. 12 terrorists went from Delhi to Jaipur in a bus with bombs. They bought 9 bicycles and parked them at different places after placing bombs on them. After this, these terrorists caught the Shatabdi Express train and reached back to Delhi. Then they saw the panic after the bomb blast on news channels. Responsibility was taken by mailing from a cyber cafe located in Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh. 8 bombs had exploded between 7:20 and 7:36 in the evening. Cases of finding live bombs In December 2019, ATS filed a supplementary charge sheet. In this case, statements of 112 witnesses were taken. The terrorists were acquitted due to lack of evidence.
